2022 Black History Month Events
Whether you’re on campus or elsewhere, Black History Month is a time to pause and celebrate the achievements by African Americans; and a time for recognizing the central role of Black people in U.S. history. This year we celebrate with the theme, “Black Health and Wellness,” which explores, “the legacy of not only Black scholars and medical practitioners in Western medicine, but also other ways of knowing (e.g., birthworkers, doulas, midwives, naturopaths, herbalists, etc.) throughout the African Diaspora. The 2022 theme considers activities, rituals and initiatives that Black communities have done to be well.”
Therefore, NC State University and its campus partners will be offering a variety of Black History Month events throughout February! This includes Blacks in Wax, HERMonies: Black Sounds, Black Voices, Black Movement, March Like Martin, and more! You can view the full list of events and activities here.
