Dr. Sung-Ju Kim to Present at ISTR 14th International Conference

A group of scholars from Southeast Asia and the United States has been working for several years to fill the knowledge gap through a comprehensive regional study of the current state of nonprofit management education programs. Under the leadership of Dr. Sung-Ju Kim, Assistant Professor at NC State University, the research group proposed the presentation of their findings would be held in Montreal in conjunction with the ISTR Bi-Annual Conference.

This seminar, titled “Nonprofit Education Research Summit: Discussing and Comparing Eastern and Western Nonprofit Higher Education Programs,” will provide an opportunity for these researchers to share their findings to date, compare and contrast findings on a regional, national and international basis, and receive feedback from leading NGO education scholars. Those presenting at the summit will trace the development of nonprofit education programs in East Asia, determine the extent to which curricular options for future nonprofit leaders exist in these countries, and explore the challenges presented to future programmatic development by the social, economic and political environments of the region. In addition, various discussants in nonprofit education studies will discuss the nature of nonprofit educations in various countries in the world.

The ISTR 14th International Conference will be held July 7-10, 2020 at Concordia University in Montréal. For specific questions regarding this research, please contact Dr. Sung-Ju Kim. For additional information about the ISTR 2020 Conference and workshops, click here
