Record Turnout for the Department of Social Work’s 2017 Volunteer/Career Fair!

On Monday, January 23, 2017 the Department of Social Work held its bi-annual Annual Volunteer/Career Fair. Students and faculty gathered in the Caldwell Lounge to meet the various representatives in order to discuss volunteer opportunities, possible field practicum placement and establish professional connections.

The event is held largely to assist students in obtaining connections which will increase their network when searching for volunteer or career opportunities. The Department of Social Work continues to encourage BSW and MSW students alike to participate in the invaluable experience the Volunteer/Career Fair can provide in reference to their own professional development.

One of the foundational values of the Department of Social Work, community engagement, materializes forty hours of volunteer work required by three undergraduate social work courses. Through the connection opportunities provided by the Volunteer/Career Fair, students are enlightened to the wide range of possible areas of service within the community surrounding NC State.
