Scholarships and Enhancements

NC State, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Social Work offer a variety of scholarship and enhancement opportunities for all students. The School of Social Work has a limited number of opportunities specifically for our undergraduate and graduate students. It is highly recommended that students utilize these key resources.

Social Work Scholarships

The Nancy and Leland E. Garrett Scholarship

The Nancy and Leland E. Garrett Scholarship shall be used to support graduate students in the Master of Social Work program. The award will be given to a deserving student who is working in a clinical setting or who show interest in medical work with patients experiencing renal failure and/or kidney disease.

The Dereck Whittenburg Foundation Scholarship

Established to support students committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. The scholarship recipients are selected based on merit and the award will be given to deserving undergraduate students majoring social work and demonstrating commitment to community engagement and social justice.

The Myatt-Peebles Scholarship

Established by Dr. Wilma C. Peebles-Wilkins, NC State Alumni, 1967, to honor the memory of her parents and their descendants, the Myatt-Peebles Scholarship is given to undergraduate students pursuing their BSW degree. Recipients are selected based on the College's merit and need-based scholarship criteria and are renewable as long as the student continues to meet the award requirements.

Social Work Scholarships

The Rosemary Anne Fike Merit Scholarship

The Rosemary Anne Fike Merit Scholarship shall be given to rising junior or senior students in the School of Social Work. Students will be selected based on the established standards of awarding merit scholarships in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. NOTE:  This scholarship is not yet available.
